Never trust Rover. We had a terrible experience several years ago where the dog walker lost our dog by leaving the gate open. We were lucky to get him back three days later. Now, our friends have had a worse experience last month. They left their dog with a sitter, the dog was left unattended, got out and got eaten by a coyote. The sitters were incredibly callous and not remorseful. Rover takes no responsibility as a platform. If you love your pets, don’t use Rover. Find someone local who cares.
Trying to book a short visit before confirming longer stay was impossible on desktop without canceling longer stay first. Trying to do it on cellphone threw me into an endless loop of signing on and picking date/time.Once I switched to the app, everything worked perfectly.
Rover has helped us out alot since we started using them. We had a few problems with sitters not showing up and Rover got on it right away for us and fixed the problem. There are some really nice sitters on here that care for the pets they take care of.
Rover covers all the necessary communications thoroughly…as well as insurance! Awesome professional outfit. What I dislike is that I used to pay an additional $10 on the base of $25 making it 35 for an hour walk/feed etc - and now suddenly it is $30 for the extra half hour making a total of $50. Maybe I am missing something but that increase pushes me totally away.
