I’ve been a Prime Customer for years and yet still several movies do not have subtitles on Amazon Prime (not even English). It would be impossible to list them all here. It usually happens with movies from the 80’s and earlier - although even with some more recent ones. Still, Netflix manages to provide subtitles (and in multiple languages) also on old movies - which clearly shows a better service/ customer care as well as attention towards hearing impaired customers.Subtitles aren’t just for the hearing impaired—they help you to understand new languages, as well as decipher difficult-to-follow dialogue.
Prime video is worth it because of prime subscription with the rest of Amazon service prime video is okay prime video is a service we check now and then to see what's on there but I found personally I like documentaries and 15% of content on prime video is literally free YouTube official channel content why would u add that into a subscription service I love Clarkson's farm show and grand tour and James may In Japan was good watch parties on prime now is fantastic idea
I was told repeatedly that my service would be 59.95 for lifetime then was charged 74.96 and had to make 2 phone calls (costing a told of 62.45) in fees. Customer rep argued with me that I was only paying 59.99 to the point where I had to hang up on him. I contacted prime support and was told that they would refund me the 74.96 within 28 days and I would keep my service. I have signed up for a couple channels with 30 days free. Less then a week after getting prime 2 more withdrawals from my bank were made, they just say Amazon. I have emailed support at least 5 times regarding these withdrawals as I shouldn't of had to pay anything more after 1 week and what they were for ? And about the promised refund and they have never given (it has now been 1.5 months) and have not received a reply to any of the 5 I've sent. Would I recommend prime? Because of my extremely bad and unprofessional experience definately not. I feel like I am being ripped off. I have now with phone calls, my initial payment for lifetime membership and 2 extra payments for who knows what.....have paid $153.77 for a 59.95 service!!!! I am livid that they are ignoring and avoiding doing what they promised. And wasn't I supposed to have the first 30 days to try it out? Didn't happen either obviously. I call them fraudulent!
I am 50% deaf and badly need sub-titles to follow the program. Yet I estimate over two-thirds of ALL the movies and TV series on Amazon Prime have no sub-titles. Given that 40% or more people over 50 have hearing loss, this is clear discrimination against a large percentage of the population. I complained several years ago, and was told Amazon were 'working on' the problem. But nothing has been done.I am amazed that Amazon haven't been called out by government on this practice.
Got amazon prime on the TV started watching supernatural seasons 1 through 12 paid a subscription fee to amazon then discovered couldn't watch 13 - through 15 even though we could see them without paying 2.99 to 3.99 per episode USD. for that price I could buy the complete Box Set of seasons 1 through 15 for the same price. I have stage 4 COPD and I don't have long left to live, I now will never get to see the completion of this series.
APV is one of those services - it could do better! I like the fact that they have some sport such as football (soccer to Americans) & tennis. Whilst the series & movies are limited, there are some good stuff in there. Bit confusing though when choosing as some content is paid & some included - wish this was more clear. Unless they secure better programming, it will never compete with the big boys such as Netflix & Disney+. It will be interesting to see what becomes available once MGM studios content is added
Amazon exercise absolutely no quality control over their movies. It's all about racking them up.We have now paid to rent three movies which have all had problems with the picture and sound. The picture was stuttering in two movies from the 90s including Clueless. We watched The Birdcage last night and it was stuttering but also the audio was badly out of sync.I also tried to watch Synecdoche, New York and the quality was appalling. It was not listed at HD but it was unwatchable. The encoding was so bad that the picture was blocky. On top of this Amazon do not care for accessibility. Half the movies on there do not have subtitles. They just don't care about you, all they care about is their profits.I wouldn't recommend Prime Video to anyone.
We called to get the code verified to reset up our account. The only thing the so called customer service agent Adam wanted to do was change our plan. We said we will consider it just send the info in an email to review later but for now just connect one tv. He said he couldn't do it without changing the plan. We said we would like to talk to his manager but told us there was no one manager available. Absurd!!!!!
