WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!DO NOT CALL THE IRS, VISIT AN IRS OFFICE.Everything I was told over the phone by the low skilled, poorly trained, low IQ IRS agent was WRONG. Losers!Don't waste tour time calling the IRS. Go to an IRS office near you.IRS is lucky to have an overall 1.4 BAD rating.The IRS deserves a negative 10.00 TERRIBLE rating. The IRS:1. Has zero respect for taxpayers.2. Is happy to waste hours and days of taxpayers time.3. Is a bureaucratic nightmare.4. Exists to employ lawyers and accountants.5. Telephone employees are low skilled, poorly trained, low IQ and USELESS.6. Offers the WORST taxpayer service.7. Represents the WORST of government.8. Is a total TIME SUCK.9. Is a siloed, not integrated mess!10. Hides from taxpayers - endless telephone holds, representatives hang up on taxpayers, calls are ended due to being too busy with other taxpayers, etc.Bottom line, the IRS is a disgrace and needs to be reinvented. Let's face it. The federal government wastes our tax dollars. The least the government could do is be efficient and effective in taking our money to waste it.Instead, the IRS tortures taxpayers with deplorable customer service. Disgraceful mess!But hey, that's US government for you - it's a dumpster fire.
I wish there was an option to give zero stars. I have been waiting for nearly three months for my 2024 taxes to be updated on their website. I tried the chat function on the website, but I got a message that says “No representatives are currently available. Please try again later.”—even though it is during business hours! I was forced to call 1-800-829-1040, but I have been on hold for almost 44 minutes for a call that was supposed to be answered “in approximately 15 to 30 minutes”. They clearly do not care about your time! If you don’t update your system and I don’t get a bill, you don’t get a payment! Take me to federal jail if you want to.
I was on hold for one hour and 30 minutes and they answered it, it got quiet, went back to the music and then they deliberately hung up on me. Ridiculous. How am I suppose to solve my tax issues if you hang up in my face on purpose? I get the previous layoffs so I expected longer wait times but to be hung up on is so messed up!
I would give 0 stars if I could. My return was approved 3 months ago. I was not given any option for direct deposit this year, which no one could explain why. I am now waiting another week for check 3 to be mailed because I have never received any of the checks.I have lost my home of 28 years, can not get any of my prescription medications, attend routine follow ups for chronic conditions because I do not have cash in hand. The manager at the IRS told me that none of the employees can tell you why the system is the way that it is, they can only provide vague answers to questions that they should be able to answer, considering the hardships this issue is causing me.They also refuse to provide proof a check was mailed, or expedite this 3rd check, only stating that is the system.I have filed my taxes my entire life, either paid my taxes due or collected my refund. In 1 year, thanks to the IRS I have lost everything and putting my Health at further risk. The air conditioner has gone out in my car, and I can not even get that fixed thanks to the IRS and their crappy system.I am sure every employee I have talked to is going home to their home, eating a nice dinner and sleeping in their beds. I have worked my entire life to have that same luxury until the IRS is unable to deliver my refund to me.
This is the most convoluted, irritating screwed up system I've ever seen? it's like a circle jerk. Nothing works and I mean nothing works! You go in circles and I think it's designed this way by incompetent fools! Then you try to get them on the phone and it's another Merry go around with no end!
